These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Aurora Go ("the Service").

2. Acceptance and Eligibility
By accessing or using Aurora Go at aurorago.app, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Age Requirements:
- You must be at least 16 years old if you are in the EU/EEA
- You must be at least 13 years old in all other regions
- If you are under the required age, you may only use the Service with parental consent
3. Description of Service
Aurora Go is a free web-based application that provides:
- Real-time aurora borealis forecasts and Kp index data
- Space weather information (solar wind, geomagnetic activity)
- Cloud cover forecasts for aurora viewing
- Aurora webcam feeds from various locations
- Push notifications for aurora activity alerts
- Community features including aurora sighting reports and verifications
The Service aggregates data from third-party sources including NOAA/SWPC, GFZ Potsdam, Open-Meteo, RainViewer, and independent webcam operators. Community features allow users to share aurora sighting information with other users.
4. License to Use
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.
This license does not include the right to:
- Modify, copy, or create derivative works of the Service
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
- Use the Service for commercial purposes without authorization
- Sublicense or transfer your rights to any third party
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.
We specifically disclaim responsibility for:
- Accuracy of forecasts: Aurora and weather predictions are based on scientific models and third-party data. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or timeliness.
- Data availability: The Service relies on external data sources that may experience downtime or delays beyond our control.
- Webcam availability: Third-party webcam feeds may be unavailable, delayed, or discontinued at any time.
- User-generated content: Aurora sighting reports are submitted by other users. We do not verify, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy of any sighting reports, intensity assessments, or user descriptions.
- Push notification delivery: Push notifications depend on your browser, device, and network conditions. We cannot guarantee timely delivery of all notifications.
- Fitness for purpose: The Service is for informational and entertainment purposes only. Do not rely on it for safety-critical decisions.
For EU/EEA consumers: This disclaimer does not affect your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection laws, including mandatory warranty rights that cannot be excluded or limited.
6. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING:
- Loss of profits or anticipated savings
- Loss of data or goodwill
- Travel expenses incurred based on forecasts
- Any damages arising from your use or inability to use the Service
For EU/EEA consumers: Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence, (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or (c) any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
7. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or data
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, crawlers) without our written permission
- Reproduce, duplicate, sell, or resell any part of the Service
- Circumvent any access controls or usage limits
7.1 Aurora Sighting Reports
When submitting aurora sighting reports, you agree to:
- Only report genuine aurora sightings that you have personally observed
- Provide accurate intensity assessments to the best of your ability
- Not submit false, misleading, or spam reports
- Not submit reports with offensive, inappropriate, or illegal content in descriptions
- Not attempt to manipulate or abuse the reporting system
To prevent abuse, there are limits on how frequently you can submit reports. Accounts found to be abusing the reporting system may be restricted or banned from submitting future reports.
7.2 Sighting Verifications
When verifying other users' sighting reports, you agree to:
- Only verify sightings that you have personally confirmed
- Provide honest intensity assessments
- Not collude with other users to artificially inflate verification counts
Violation of these rules may result in immediate termination of your access to the Service.
8. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, logos, and original content, is owned by jiseungbo and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Third-party content and data:
- Space weather data: NOAA/SWPC and GFZ Potsdam (public domain / open data)
- Weather forecast data: Open-Meteo (CC BY 4.0)
- Cloud satellite imagery: RainViewer
- Webcam content: Respective operators
8.1 User-Generated Content
When you submit content to the Service (such as aurora sighting reports, descriptions, or verifications), you:
- Retain ownership of your content
- Grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content within the Service for the purpose of providing community features
- Represent that you have the right to submit such content and that it does not violate any third-party rights
- Acknowledge that your content may be visible to other users as described in our Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to remove any user-generated content that violates these Terms or that we determine to be inappropriate, without prior notice.
9. Sharing and Linking
We encourage sharing Aurora Go with others! You are welcome to:
- Share links to aurorago.app on social media, blogs, forums, or other websites
- Reference our service in educational or informational content
- Recommend Aurora Go to friends, family, or fellow aurora enthusiasts
- Include links to our website in aurora-related communities
Attribution appreciated: While not required, we appreciate when you mention "Aurora Go" or include a link to aurorago.app when sharing our content or forecasts. This helps others discover the service and supports our mission to make aurora hunting accessible to everyone.
10. Third-Party Links and Content
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or display third-party content (e.g., webcam feeds, advertisements). We are not responsible for:
- The content, accuracy, or opinions expressed on third-party sites
- The privacy practices of third parties
- Any products or services offered by third parties
11. Advertising
The Service displays advertisements through Google AdSense. By using the Service, you acknowledge that advertisements will be displayed. For information about how advertising data is used, please see our Privacy Policy.
12. Feedback and Promotional Rewards
We offer a promotional reward program where every 100th feedback submission with a valid email address wins a $10 Amazon Gift Card. By participating, you agree to the following rules:
12.1 Official Rules
- No purchase necessary to enter or win
- Eligibility: Open to individuals aged 18 or older worldwide, except where prohibited by law
- How to enter: Submit feedback through our feedback widget with a valid email address
- Winner selection: Every 100th feedback with email automatically wins
- Odds of winning: Approximately 1 in 100 for email-submitted feedback
- Prize: One (1) $10 Amazon Gift Card (or regional equivalent)
- Prize delivery: Winners will be contacted via provided email within 14 days
- Prize fulfillment: Gift cards will be sent to the winner's email within 30 days of verification
12.2 Email Collection for Rewards
Email addresses provided for reward participation will be used solely to:
- Notify winners of their prize

- Verify winner eligibility if necessary
We will not use your email for marketing purposes unless you separately opt-in. Feedback submitted without an email remains completely anonymous.
12.3 Limitations
- One prize per person per calendar month
- We reserve the right to disqualify fraudulent or duplicate entries
- Prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash
- We are not responsible for Amazon Gift Card terms, restrictions, or expiration
- Winners may be required to provide additional verification
12.4 Tax Responsibility
Winners are solely responsible for any taxes applicable to their prize in their jurisdiction. We do not withhold taxes and will not issue tax forms unless required by applicable law.
Void where prohibited: This promotion is void in jurisdictions where such promotions require registration or are otherwise restricted or prohibited by law.
13. Service Modifications and Termination
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time. For significant changes affecting functionality, we will endeavor to provide reasonable advance notice when practicable.
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms or engage in conduct harmful to other users or the Service.
14. Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time by updating this page. Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
For significant changes, we may provide additional notice (e.g., a banner on our website or notification if you have provided contact information).
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Seoul, Korea.
For EU/EEA consumers: You may also bring proceedings in your country of residence, and nothing in these Terms affects your right to rely on mandatory provisions of your local consumer protection laws. You may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
